| Description: | "Inky ruby. Mineral-accented, highly perfumed aromas of ripe red and blue fruits, spicecake and potpourri, with a spicy topnote that builds in the glass. Sappy, fresh and penetrating on the palate, offering vibrant blueberry and raspberry flavors that are complemented by hints of candied violet and star anise. Shows excellent clarity and mineral lift on the strikingly persistent finish, which is framed by smooth, slow-mounting tannins. Faurie owns only 1.7 hectares of vines, mostly in Hermitage, from which he produces perhaps the appellation's most graceful, often delicate wines. Even in hot years like 2015 Faurie's wines show a distinctly light, mineral-driven personality, with the balance to reward patience but a sheer deliciousness that makes them drink well soon after release."
