| Description: | Vivid ruby-red. Smoke-accented cherry and black raspberry and floral pastille scents, with notes of vanilla, coconut and pipe tobacco adding complexity. Plush and broad on the palate, offering dark berry liqueur, chewing tobacco and mocha flavors and a sweet, repeating suggestion of coconut. Ripe yet lively wine with hints of smoked meat, candied flowers and licorice joining dark fruit on a very long, gently tannic finish. While this wine is approachable now, I'd hold off on opening it as this bottling has a fine track record for aging. |
