From Pessac-Leognan
Vintage: | 2000 |

Description: | 92 Wa / 92 Ws / 89+ Vm / 17 Jr. Tasted at the chateau. A slightly lighter hue than the 1995 Blanc, with green tints. But the nose has more freshness with greater precision and mineralite, notes of passion fruit, a touch of dried Lychee and walnut. Good balance on the palate with well-integrated creamy oak that never obstructs the clean, fresh, waxy fruit. Good length. Refreshing finish. Excellent. - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate. Rich and powerful, with apple, lemon, caramel and vanilla bean. Full-bodied, with good acidity and a long flavorful finish. Serious juice. 5,000 cases made. - Wine Spectator. Very fresh, nuanced nose combines lime, white peach, pineapple, honeysuckle and mint. Vibrant and extremely young; currently showing moderate volume but excellent cut. Conveys an impression of firm acidity and a faint finishing dryness. This will be fattened on its lees until the bottling; will it eventually be as silky the '99? - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous media. Especially deep coppery gold. Pungent and smoky – lots of personality though quite evolved. - Jancis Robinson |
