Goose Ridge Merlot "G3" Columbia Valley 750mL
| Description: | The fruit for this wine was sourced from some of the premier upper blocks of the Goose Ridge estate. The 2019 vintage allowed for optimal, long hang time in the vineyard. The wine was pumped over twice daily until a balance of color, structure, and flavor extraction had been achieved. The wine matured for 15 months in barrels (with 30% new oak). A small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon was carefully blended to polish the structure and enhance the aromatic intensity of the Merlot. The 2019 G3 Merlot is intensely expressive showing fresh notes of red berries and plums complimented by accents of cola and baking spices. The palate is richly textured with layers of juicy, intense flavors of Montmorency cherries, strawberries, and red plums. A fresh, lively, and lengthy finish, showing notes of blueberries and black plums, completes the wine. |
