Description: Elena Walch is a 5-generation family-run estate in Alto Adige, a region in the North-East part of Italy that led the wine quality revolution in the area and has gained a prominent international reputation. The philosophy of the estate is dedicated to its terroir â" the idea that wines must be the individual expression of their soil, climate and cultivation in the vineyard â" and this is maintained according to the principles of sustainability and now the torch has been past on to Julia and Karoline Walch, the next generation winemakers. The color is a light, shimmering pink with aromas of red melon and rose water. The palate is very fresh with racy acidity and dominated by a quartz-like mineral tone. The finish is dry with a slight tannic grip. |
