Castello Di Romitorio Brunello Di Montalcino

Castello Di Romitorio Brunello Di Montalcino

Vintage: 2019
Description: There's no shortage of wine critics emphatically calling 2019 an outstanding vintage for its abundance of delicious, harmonious Brunellos. Castello Romitorio's 2019 Brunello di Montalcino stands out for its dramatic, concentrated-but-energetic weaving of earthy, herbal accents, floral tones, and vibrant, crunchy red and dark fruits ; crushed stones, blood orange & cherry, and rose & thyme are detailed and explosive in the mouth. The wine's textures take turns, a weaving of softly gripping grains of tannin into its sleekly vinous warmth. The vintage gifted Romitorio's Brunello with a hard-to-resist balance, but also endowed it with layers of textures and flavors left to be uncovered with more time in the bottle. You just might want a few of them in order to experience their graceful evolution ! For now, let this open up in the decanter for a couple hours and it'll shine with a hearty meal!. Castello Romitorio has been striding forward from humble beginnings to become a modern staple on the Brunello scene. The castello, a medieval-era outpost, lies on an isolated hill off to the west of Montalcino, with nearby vineyards tucked in amongst Mediterranean forest and olive groves. Their wines are sleek, stylish, robust and more open-knit than the average. They're modern artistic expressions for founder Sandro Chia, a painter and sculptor whose bold works adorn the labels. He bought the land in the 1980s Sandro because the wild, natural character of this ancient, bucolic area seemed destined for rebirth. That potential did not lay fallow, as Sandro's son, Filippo Chia, took over, honing the style and quality for which Castello Romitorio is now known! Practicing sustainable & organic farming. Wine Spectator Insider "hot Wines" 97 Points - "Notable for its pure cherry and kirsch aromas and flavors, this red is also stylish and graceful. Rose, wild thyme and stony mineral elements come into play as this develops on the palate. Beautifully integrated, fresh and firm, this glides to a long, resonant aftertaste."
