Capture Sauvignon Blanc Tradition

Capture Sauvignon Blanc Tradition

Sauvignon Blanc

Vintage: 2017
Description: With multi-generational experience from Chateau Latour, our winemaking team understands the methods behind crafting classic Bordeaux-style Sauvignon Blanc with intense fruit from hillside vineyards. Meticulous hand sorting, at a rate of less than two tons per hour, ensures that only the finest grapes are selected at their peak ripeness. Producer The volcanic Mayacamas Mountain range runs 52 miles southeast from Mendocino County, shearing through Lake, Sonoma, and Napa Counties on its way. Rich in winegrowing history, winemaking in these mountains dates back to the 1860s. Established in 2008, Capture is inspired by California's frontier spirit while staying true to time-honored French winemaking traditions. Our origins are rooted in the far reaches of the Mayacamas Mountains, seeking out remote high-elevation vineyards in Sonoma, Napa, and Lake Counties, pushing always toward the next peak. Capture targets vineyards within Alexander Valley, Knights Valley, Spring Mountain District, and Lake County-appellations at the untamed edges of mainstream wine regions that see more wildlife visitors than human ones. With elevations up to 2,400 feet, conditions here are tough for the vines. Thin topsoil forces the roots to burrow down deep into the rock to search for water and nutrients, producing wines rich in character, complexity, and elegance.
