This is a medium-light-bodied white with a firm mouthfeel, but moderate acidity, and subtle earthy, herbal character overlaying the crisp fruit. "Clean, fresh and electric, the Can Sumoi Xarel-lo speaks to the wild landscape from which it is grown with aromas of herbs such as fennel and thyme. The fruit flavors teeter on underripe to just perfect apples with clean acidity and a hint of salinity." - Winery Notes. Can Sumoi is a fairly recent project of Pepe Raventos (of the well-regarded Raventos i blanc winery) and Francesc Escala of minimal invention still wines from previously abandoned vineyards in the Penedes region. Produced without additives (no added sulfites). |
