| Description: | Winemaker Notes:. One notch cooler in tone than the regular Gavi, but still expressive and boisterous with loads of citrus, ripe green apple and fresh peach aromas and flavors. Finishes very, very, long and mouthwatering. A touch more body than the regular Gavi, but still light (just 13.0% alcohol) and equally intense in its flavor and finish. I suppose this will improve over the next few years, but I cannot imagine being able to wait. Remarkably good and pretty brilliant value. From the Picollo family's home village of Rovereto in the heart of the Gavi di Gavi Docg, this is pretty much the essence of the region's native white grape, Cortese. Lorenzo Picollo founded the winery in 1945. The winemaking and day-to-day management was transferred to his son, Ernesto, and is now in the hands of his grandson, Gianlorenzo. Innovating along the way, Gianlorenzo continues to carry the family's legacy forward with great success. |
