Bereche & Fils Brut Reserve Vieilles Vignes NV (750ML)
From Champagne
Description: | 93 Ag / 92 Ws / 92 Wa / 92 JS / 92 Jd / 16.5 Jr. The Nv Brut Réserve (2016 base, disgorged December 2018) is especially finessed on this release, with a bit more floral lift from the Chardonnay than is often the case, and also slightly higher dosage, all of which works very well. Lemon confit, white flowers and mint add to the wine's decidedly bright profile. This is a fabulous edition of the Brut Réserve. Dosage is 7 grams per liter. Disgorged: December, 2018. -- Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media. Aromatic and well-spiced, with a lushly creamy mousse and juicy acidity layered with flavors of ripe nectarine, candied ginger and toasted almond. Minerally chalk and brine notes play on the lacy finish. Disgorged November 2019. Drink now through 2023. 6,600 cases made, 1,557 cases imported. - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator. Disgorged in July 2020 with seven grams per liter dosage, the Nv Brut Réserve (2018 base) is the latest rendition of this wine. Bursting with aromas of orange oil, crisp orchard fruit and fresh bread, it's medium to full-bodied, fleshy and gourmand, with tangy acids and an enveloping, pillowy profile. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate. Plenty of pastry and lees-derived chalkiness and fresh cream notes. The palate is very fleshy, expansive and accessible and yet it stays very pure, fine and focused. Great shape. Mostly pinot with 35 per cent of reserve wine. Drink now. - James Suckling. The current release of the Nv Champagne Brut Reserve is based on the 2019 vintage. It is roughly equal parts Chardonnay, Meunier, and Pinot Noir, with 35% reserve wine blended in. Fruity, floral, and open, with notes of fresh citrus blossoms, orchard fruits, and fresh bread, the palate is generous and approachable, with apricot, berries, and a lightly savory broth. This is consistently one of the best entry wines that versatile enough to drink alone or to accompany a meal. Drink 2022-2030. - Af, JebDunnuck. 35% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir. Base 2020. Dosage 6 g/l. Disgorged September 2023. Frangipani nose. It tastes sweet after all these zero-dosage wines! But in a very welcome way … Daisies and white apricots. Pretty and delicate. Like a slice of chiffon cake. Tiny cumin note on the end. A lovely aperitif wine – not tiring or demanding, easy natural balance. - Tc, Jancis Robinson. Age of the vines : + 40 years.
