Description: | 91 pts James Suckling Currant and spices plus hints of stones. Medium to full body. Velvety tannins. Cedar and blueberry character with some cassis. Needs two or three years to come together. 90 pts Tanzer/Vinous Medium-deep red. Black and redcurrant, tobacco leaf, herbs, licorice and a subtle spicy sweetness on the nose. Subtle, savory berry and tobacco leaf flavors are classically dry. A step up in depth and tannic structure from the Single Vineyard Malbec, showing more definition, grip and reserve. These three single-vineyard bottlings are from 20-year-old vines planted by Michel Rolland, using plant material from his nursery in Pomerol. 90 pts Wine Spectator Molten chocolate notes wrap around ripe dark fruit and spice flavors. Creamy mid-palate, featuring a long finish that echoes with espresso and cocoa powder accents. Drink now through 2022. 500 cases made. –km |
