To that end, we focus only on Pinot Noir, and source only from vineyards that provide us with exceptional fruit. Producer Siduri specializes in cool-climate Pinot Noir from five major AVAs on the West Coast, spanning from the Willamette Valley in Oregon, down to Santa Rita Hills in California's Santa Barbara County. At Siduri, we believe that serious wine and serious fun are not mutually exclusive. Wine Advocate 91 points - I loved the 2014 Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands and this soft, silky, complex beauty is certainly a match for a number of the more expensive single vineyard releases. Giving up lots of Bing cherry, crushed flowers, black raspberry and spice, it has medium-bodied richness, no hard edges and a seamless texture, all of which allow it to shine today. Nevertheless, it should evolve gracefully given its impeccable balance. (Sep 2016). Vinous 90 points - Bright ruby. Lively red fruit and floral aromas are complicated by a zesty mineral overtone and a suggestion of white pepper. Gently sweet and focused on the palate, offering energetic raspberry, cherry and spicecake flavors and a touch of smokiness. Appealingly sweet and supple on the finish, which is framed by dusty, harmonious tannins. (Oct 2016). Wine Enthusiast 89 points - Olallieberrries, grape seeds, roasting herbs and hot gravel show on the nose of this appellation blend by Adam Lee, whose recently sold his brand to Jackson Family but remains deeply involved. A marjoram-laced cranberry-juice flavor consumes the palate, lifted further by hints of dried fennel. (Nov 2016) Siduri Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir is a red fruited wine with superb concentration and balance. Having only been bottled a few months ago, it is still a bit tight on the finish, but really opens up after being open for several hours. |
