| Description: | Jean Phillips, a former real estate agent, bought the 57 acres of Oakville vineyard in 1986 which was planted with a mix of varieties except for the 80 vines of Cabernet Sauvignon. Jean hired Richard Peterson as a consultant and later hired his daughter, Heidi Peterson Barrett as the first winemaker. The entire vineyard was replanted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The 1992 vintage received a 99 point score from Robert Parker becoming one of the most celebrated and expensive wines in Napa Valley. |
