| Description: | Decanter 93 Points - "Perfumed cherry fruit, with floral notes and a perfect purity of fruit. The texture is supple and round. As winemaker Paul Delorme noted: 'All the work is in the fermentation, after that it's done, contrary to the whites.' This is blended from the lieux-dits Bas de Duresses and Grand Champs. The grapes are partially destemmed (30% whole-cluster) and fermented with a careful extraction prior to ageing in mostly used casks.". From importer Kermit Lynch: Jean-Marcs wines certainly express a certain depth and sumptuousness, however his wines also show focus and restraint. Their elegance and amazing precision lend themselves to long aging in the cellars. Jean-Marc loves cooking believes the strong mineral backbone of his wines and their fresh acidity marry well with food. This is why one is more likely to find their wines in restaurants rather than in wine shops. |
