Cvne Crianza

Grenache,Mazuelo,Tempranillo

Vintage: 2017
Description: 80% Tempranillo with the remainder composed of Garnacha and Mazuelo. All grapes come from the 'Rioja Alta' subzone, where higher altitudes and Atlantic influences make for a moderate climate which is ideal for producing wines of elegance and finesse. Soils are composed of iron-rich clay and limestone. The wine sees two years of aging before being bottled, with at least 12 months in American oak. Review 90pts Wine Advocate The 2010 Cune Crianza, in a sim ilar fashion to its 2011 sibling, is extremely aromatic, with clean raspberry aromas and the benefit of one more year in bottle, which provided it with some more complexity in the form of dried roses and sweet spice notes. The palate is velvety, really easy to drink, with clean flavors and good persistence. I liked it better than the 2011. It's superb for its price tag! Drink 2014-2017. Producer Cvne, is situated in Rioja in the traditional neighborhood of the station, where the oldest wineries of Rioja Alta established themselves, for the main reason of transporting their goods to the port of Bilbao. In 1879, two brothers decided to set up a business in the recently flourishing trade of the wine business. C.v.n.e., Compania Vinicola del Norte de Espana (The Northern Spanish Wine Company) or la Cune, as it is commonly known in Haro, was created. This cellar still reflects the origins of the company and is kept in the traditional neighborhood of the Haro station.
