| Description: | The Caparzo estate is owned by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini and is located in the land of Brunello, Montalcino (and Ca-parzo makes a killer Brunello di Montalcino which we also have in stock). Caparzo occupies 210 acres of vineyards. San-giovese is from the Latin " Sanguis Jovis" "Blood Of Jupiter. Sangiovese is the most widely planted red grape in Tuscany. The Caparzo Rosso is made up of Sangiovese from three different vineyard sites on the estate with differing exposures and soil types which enhance the ability for Caparzo to obtain consistent qual- ity from vintage to vintage. During fermentation the wine stays in con- tact with the skins for an extended period to enhance flavor. The Caparzo Rosso di Montalcino shows aromas of red berries, violet and a hind of moist soil. On the palate we find juicy cherry, raspberry and a dash of clove. It is medium-bodied and very fresh. Great w it hgrilled meats as we head into the spring/summer grilling season. Food pairing red meat, pasta with sauces, pulses soup, mature ch eese. Serving Temperature: 18° C, better if uncorked 1 - 2 hours before serving. |
