Schafer Frohlich Blanc De Noir Trocken/dry

Vintage: 2021
Description: This zesty Spatburgunder (Pinot Noir) rose (a rose in name but not in appearance) is loaded with flavors of red fruit, tart cherries, citrus skin, and wet rocks. Fruit comes from 40-year-old vines rooted in volcanic soils and is vinified like a white wine (direct press, not skin contact). This is one of our favorite German roses on the market. The 2021 Blanc de Noir trocken is pure Pinot Noir from the porphyry soils of the Stomberg. Predominantly vinified in stainless steel, the 2021 shows a delicate and flinty bouquet of yellow cherries, mocha and red berries. Light but creamy and textured on the palate, this is a pure, saline and finely grippy Pinot with lush and delicate fruit and a fine, aromatic finish. Filigreed and perfectly round. 12% stated alcohol. Screw cap. Tasted in July 2022.
