| Description: | Found by Samuel Smith (yup, the beer guy) in 1849 and named Yalumba (aboriginal for "all the land around," which probably referred to what he bought), this is the oldest family-owned winery in Australia. As with the Rhone's Cte Rtie, Yalumba's offering has (5%) Viognier co-fermented with the Shiraz, a portion with whole grapes another with just the juice. Very tasty. |
