| Description: | Denis Durantou was widely considered one of Bordeaux's best winemakers. His flagship estate was Chateau L'Eglise-Clinet in Pomerol, but he also owned property in St. Emilion. He brought the same exacting winemaking to this estate, Saintayme. The result is a gorgeous, age-worthy wine. A rich, ripe nose of blackberries, cassis, and plums, accompanied with notes of sweet spice, vanilla, and chocolate and a fleshy, savory edge. Well-structured and balanced, it is accessible now but can age for a decade and more. |
