Wine Director 92 points - Aged mostly in tank, with a small portion spending time in old barrels, this dark-hued Cahors feels classic in its firmness and restraint. The fruit is black and chewy but also violet-scented, with impressive clarity to its flavors; its earthy notes bring to mind the saline savor of black olives. It will age well over the next few years, or pair well with fatty meats right now. Hand harvested. 30% aged in new oak. The wine displays the typical black color of Cahors, along with aromatics of meaty black fruits, licorice and spicebox. Beautiful dark color, intense and complex bouquet of earthiness, full and round in the mouth, supported by very fine tannins.
