Grown on limestone soils, the 2021 Heiligenblut blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc (Weissburgunder), and is pure, clear, fresh and mineral, with ripe apple aromas on the nose. It is a gorgeously ripe and juicy "Burgundian" wine from the Rheinhessen. It is very approachable, with notes of fresh Fuji apple and lemon, shows a slight richness, and good integration of neutral oak. A great new find for the Chardonnay drinker who likes it on the lighter, fresher approach. |
