Feudi di San Gregorio Fiano di Avellino

Fiano

Vintage: 2016
Description: Technical notes 100% Fiano di Avellino. Food pairing A white ideal for accompanying crustaceans, fish with sauces and grilled seafood. Producer Feudi di San Gregorio, a modern expression of a centuries-old tradition of passion and dedication to the land, is Campanias premier winemaking estate. Situated in the tiny village of Sorbo Serpico in Campania's Irpinia region, this highly-acclaimed winery was established in 1986. Since then, it has aggressively tapped into the enormous potential of Campania's unique terroir and ancient varieties by placing a contemporary spin on indigenous grapes such as Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo and Aglianico. Wine Advocate 92 points - This is one of Feudi di San Gregorio's strongest performers. The 2016 Fiano di Avellino is refined and pure with extreme silkiness on the close. The wine's fiber is absolutely smooth, and it offers a seamless continuum of stone fruit and citrus flavors that stream over the palate in a steady flow. (Aug 2017). Wine Enthusiast 91 points - Bosc pear, yellow apple and honey scents follow through to the radiant, medium-bodied palate, along with nectarine and Mediterranean herb notes. An energizing mineral tone adds depth. (Jul 2017) Color - Intense straw-yellow with greenish highlights. Bouquet - Lovely bouquet of fresh peach and candied orange, with floral and mineral notes; gains further complexity after one year in the bottle, developing notes of hazelnut and resin. Taste - Medium-bodied with tropical fruit flavors, a lively freshness and mineral hints.
