Hubert Lamy Saint-Aubin Clos du Meix 1er Cru (750ML)
From Saint-Aubin
Vintage: | 2021 |
---|---|
Description: | 91 Bh / 90+ Wa / 90 Vm / 90 Jm. Tasting note: Relatively firm reduction dominates the nose at present so be sure to give this some air first. More interesting are the concentrated but racy medium weight flavors that brim with minerality on the overtly austere, linear and sneaky long bitter zest-inflected finish. This bone-dry effort is old school in style and one that should age accordingly. Outstanding.--Allen Meadows, Burghound. Tangy and electric, the 2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Clos du Meix unfurls in the glass with reductive aromas of white flowers, iodine, toasted nuts, pear and peach. Medium-bodied, elegantly textural and incisive, it will delight readers who privilege cut and tension in their white Burgundies.-William Kelley, The Wine Advocate. The 2021 Saint-Aubin Clos de Meix 1er Cru has a wonderful crushed stone and shucked oyster shell bouquet that leaps from the glass. The palate is fresh on the entry with good concentration. Not as complex as the previous vintage, but there are pleasant notes of bitter lemon and orange rind on the finish. Drink over the next decade-Neal Martin, Vinous Media. Planted at 14,000 vines per hectare in 1995. Pale lemon yellow. More reductive in a vegetal way, almost some cat's pee, a la sauvignon. Really dense and tight, more citrus at the back. Not very easy to read today, though it is persistent. Drink from 2026-2029.-Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy |
