Egly Ouriet Les Vignes De Bisseuil Brut 1er Cru NV (750ML)

Egly Ouriet Les Vignes De Bisseuil Brut 1er Cru NV (750ML)

From Champagne

Description: 93 De / 92 Vm / 92 Wi / 91 Wa. A solitary Chardonnay-led cuvée in the Egly-Ouriet portfolio, this nevertheless feels like one of the family with its expressive Mirabelle plum, tangy lemon and toasted nut aromatics, finishing with an energetic chalky squeeze. Francis Egly is a fan of the 'perfect' 2018 vintage, and this example shows admirable focus and concentration for the year. A blend of 70% Chardonnay, 15% Pinot Noir and 15% Meunier from Egly's vineyard in the village of Bisseuil.-Tom Hewson, Decanter. The Nv (2016) Les Vignes de Bisseuil races out of the glass, showing terrific energy and cut. White flowers, pear, mint, white pepper and lemon peel give the 2016 notable brightness to complement its mid-weight, focused personality. All the elements come together so well in this beautifully expressive Champagne, another new addition to the range. Dosage is 3 grams per liter. Disgorged: July, 2021. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media. The Nv Les Vignes de Bisseuil Premier Cru Extra Brut is a blend of 80% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Meunier from estate vines located in the 1er Cru of Bisseuil. The blend is based on the 2016 vintage, and it was barrel fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged in barrel on lees for 52 months before being disgorged in November 2021. It has 3 g/L dosage. Pale lemon-gold in color, it comes bounding out with ready-to-go notes of fresh grapefruit, raspberry leaves, and Golden Delicious apples, followed by hints of pear drops, marzipan, and clover honey. The palate is refreshingly dry and energetic with youthful citrus and crunchy apple flavors, supported by a very fine mousse, finishing long and zesty with impressive purity and precision. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, Wine Independent. A new cuvée from Egly makes its debut in the Nv Brut Vignes de Bisseuil, a blend of 70% Chardonnay and the balance equal parts Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir, all vinified in oak. This first release, disgorged in March 2021 with three grams dosage, is based on the 2016 vintage. Offering up aromas of crisp orchard fruit, lemon oil, mint, white flowers and almonds, it's medium to full-bodied, vinous and chiseled, its enveloping core of fruit girdled by bright acids and chalky structure. Concluding with a long, saline finish, it's a superb addition to the range that nips at the heels of Egly's Nv Brut Grand Cru. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
