Medium to full body with a creamy texture and pretty depth of fruit. Crushed velvet texture. Chocolate and hazelnut at the end. 90% merlot and 10% cabernet franc. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink after 2026. - James Suckling. A blend of 75% Cabernet Franc and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, the 2021 Chapelle d'Ausone is medium to deep garnet-purple in color. It needs a lot of swirling to bring forward notes of fresh raspberries, Morello cherries, and cardamom, giving way to hints of iron ore, pencil shavings, crushed rocks, and lavender. The light-bodied palate is wonderfully delicate, with a quiet intensity of red berry and mineral layers, supported by very fine-grained tannins and seamless freshness, finishing long and fragrant. Very pretty! Only about 3,500 bottles were made. - Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent Made from 100% of the two Cabernets, the wine is structured with ripe, smoky rich tannins and great blackberry flavors. This second-label wine is likely to age well. Drink from 2027.-Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast |
