| Description: | Native to Germany and Austria, Scheurebe is an aromatic white variety that is extremely rare in California. Technically a Riesling crossing, with what was thought to be Silvaner, but is now believed to be Bouquet Blanc. Planted in the 1970s in Napa Valley's St. Helena AVA by a renowned German winemaker where it is still thriving today. Gently pressed to stainless for settling and then moved to a combination of concrete egg and stainless barrels where it underwent spontaneous fermentation with native yeast. Once primary was complete the wine was moved to neutral barrique for a 6 month elevage. Lemon blossom, jasmine tea, wet rock minerality with electric energy. |
