Description: Domaine Gautier is located in Vouvray, France and has been owned by the same family for seven generations. Benoit Gautier took over winemaking in 1981 and instituted domaine bottlings. The estate comprises 29 acres in the communes of Rochecorbon and Parcay- Meslay. The soil is classic Tuffeau (aka limestone chalk) and the average age of Benoit's vines is 25 years old. Benoit hand-picks grapes for his still wines, but will pick 25% of the grapes he uses for his sparkling wines by machine.
