Rene Rostaing Les Lézardes Syrah 20
Syrah
Vintage: | 2019 |

Winery: | Rene Rostaing |
Description: | René recognized the opportunity and began seaching for parcels outside the appellation with classic terroir. He acquired about two hectares in Lézardes, on the appellation's northern edge. Soon, Rostaing's Les Lézardes also had a cult following for its unmistakable Côte Rôtie nuance and character. From various parcels from the northern edge of Cote Rotie, mostly bottom slope. Rene is also using fruit from a Cote Rotie vineyard in Tupin that he replanted in 2006. Jl-l: There is an appealing expanse across the nose, right across it, with a jam note, a quiet persistence in its gras and tangy berries. The palate starts cautiously, then draws in and narrows down, limits itself at the end. It has frame, its sides are well established, holds black fruits and crackly tannins that lead to a pebbly end. The length is decent. A bit more to it than the 2011. The nose is more open than the palate; this is very aromatic. "It is more complete and rich than the 2011," Rene Rostaing. |
