| Description: | The original Michter's brand and distillery date to the 1750's, and was one of the first to truly industrialize whiskey production in North America. The stories you heard in history class about Colonial soldiers in Valley Forge keeping warm with rye whiskey undoubtedly involved more than a few barrels from this distillery. While the original distillery closed in 1989 after many changes of ownership, the Michter's of today opened in 2012 in Kentucky, and honors the heritage of the original. Their US1 line of whiskeys, led by the Kentucky Straight Bourbon, have found reliable placements in bars and home cabinets around the country. It is also one of Eric's personal favorites!
