Lillet Rouge Aperitif
Liqueur
Description: | The Lillet family is native to Bordeaux and they created the first and only aperitif to be from the region in 1872. The beverage rose to popularity in the 20s and 30s in part due to the advertising campain led by French artist Robert Wolff. The recipe is a base of wine with fruit macerations from the cellars in Podensac, a small vilage in the Graves region of Bordeaux. It has been used heavily in cocktails, but can also be enjoyed on it's own chilled with a slice of citrus. |
