Tenuta Sant' Antonio Manfro Amarone Della Valpolicella

Tenuta Sant' Antonio Manfro Amarone Della Valpolicella

Vintage: 2018
Description: The Castagnedi brothers, Armando, Tiziano, Paolo, and Massimo, were winegrowing consultants in the Illasi Valley of eastern Valpolicella until they inherited 50 acres of vineyards from their father Antonio Castagnedi in the late 20th century. With bigger dreams, they took the leap into wine production by buying another 75 acres of top-quality vineyard land on the high terrain of Monti Garbi in 1989 and produced the first vintage of Tenuta Sant'Antonio in 1995. These Valpolicella wines are made from 100% estate-grown grapes and the brothers pay close attention to their high-density, low-yield vineyards to provide exceptional quality grapes. The grapes for Amarone are harvested first and the rest for the regular Valpolicella are harvested second, making the regular Valpolicella an exceptional value. Tenuta Sant'Antonio only produces Amarone in years when the overall harvest quality is high enough. Cheers to these winegrowing brothers and their commitment to quality!
