Wolf Point Distilling, Florence Field Gin 80 Proof
Description: | The Story : Florence Field Gin is inspired by the woman responsible for donating the iconic Chicago Bronze Lions and various significant artworks to one of the world's most renowned museums, the Art Institute of Chicago. To this day, the sculptures guard the main entrance of the museum. The two symbolic and historic lions were commissioned by Florence Field in memory of her late husband, Henry Field, and unveiled to the public on May 10, 1894. Sculpted by well-known Animalier Edward Kemeys, the statues have since become a steadfast symbol of Chicago. Florence also donated 41 paintings by 19th-century French masters to the Museum, including works by Millet, Breton, Corot, and Delacroix. Exhibited exclusively in the Henry Field Memorial Room, this collection was the largest, most significant donation received in the museum's (at that time) fourteen-year history. The featured works still on view today and are enjoyed by countless visitors from around the world every year. The label illustration depicts Florence Field walking down a city street between the two lions under botanicals that make up the Gin. Tasting notes : Soft, elegant, quite botanical-forward. Botanical Build : Juniper Berries, Lemongrass, Coriander, Grains of Paradise, Cardamom, Lemon Peel, Chamomile Flower, Orris Root, Hibiscus, Angelica Root. 40% Alcohol by Volume (80 Proof) |
