In the fun loving and party-centric Bugey family - which includes the sparkly-sweet cult sensation we know and love - this wine is the dignified cousin who stands in aloof contrast to his hedonistic relatives. Deep and dark with savory spice, and a distinctly old-school structure focused on mouthwatering acidity. It's still a Bugey, however, so it can't help but let some purply fruit fun slip through the cracks. Good wine runs thicker than water. Serving Suggestion: Tomme and Comté cheeses are a natural (and excellent) choice, but this would pair well with heartier Middle Eastern fare, like Lebanese-style eggplant stuffed with lamb, tomato, and cinnamon. |
