Made in partnership with the Independent Stave Company, the bourbon is crafted from a proprietary corn mash bill which is then distilled in copper pot stills prior to being aged for approximately 10 years in new American oak casks before being finished for four months in new custom casks that use grooved staves, toasted to a specific time and temperature, and then flash charred. This increased surface area and unique wood character allow for the creation of a richer, complex, and well-balanced flavor profile that is unlike any other before or since. Brilliant golden amber in color, each sip of this whiskey begins with a welcoming nose of honeyed cornbread, banana, fruitcake, licorice, cloves, spice, and heavy char. This is then followed on the palate by bold notes of cereal, fresh popcorn, butterscotch, banana peel, baking spices, and woody oak, wrapped up by a fairly lengthy finish of clove oil and fading hints of more barrel char.
