From Eola-Amity Hills

Vintage: 2021
Description: 95 De / 94 Jd / 94 JS / 93 Vm / 93 Wa / 92 We / 17.5+ Jr. The Louise Vineyard is about 10% warmer than Jessie, and it also sees less wind, so these vines have life a little easier and as such, you see that in the wine's opulence. Aromas of dark bramble berries, black plum skin, and touches of savoury spice. The palate shows flashes of black tea, clove and rose hips alongside early-season blackberries. This site has a lot of geological complexity, and this structured Pinot will go the distance. - Clive Pursehouse, Decanter. Also pouring a deep ruby hue, the 2021 Pinot Noir Louise Vineyard is floral and fruity initially on opening and has a delicate warming feel, with notes of cardamom, Asian spice, mixed red and black berries, wet stone, and cedar. Medium to full-bodied, it's generous and inviting right out of the gate, although it will do well over the coming 8-10 years and should develop more umami richness and savory nature. Right now, it's rather primary, although it's well-balanced and has a great finish, with velvety tannins and even-keeled acidity.-Audrey Frick, Jeb Dunnuck. Very pretty nose of jasmine, white rosemary, acacia, white peaches, pears, pie crust, cloves and lemons. Aromatically complex, with elegant and light-footed layers. Medium-bodied. Tight and bright. Drink or hold.-James Suckling. The 2021 Pinot Noir Louise Vineyard is savory with a pleasantly herbal tinge as suggestions of incense and lavender give way to cinnamondusted blackberries. It's a model of purity, wiry, with saline minerals and depths of tart wild berries peppering the palate. This is long and perfumed with a coating of concentration that lingers long, leaving a cranberry crunch through the finale. -- Eric Guido, Vinous Media. The 2021 Pinot Noir Louise Vineyard was fermented with 46% whole clusters, and the wine matured for 18 months in 38% new French oak. It has intense aromas of cranberry sauce, pomegranate and orange peel, plus nuances of black tea and forest floor. The light-bodied palate is chalky and fresh with understated fruit and a long, spicy finish. 786 cases were made.-Erin Brooks, The Wine Advocate. My favorite Louise since Tina spent 18 months on lees in French oak, 38% new. Dark, rich aromas and flavors of Bing cherries wrapped in bittersweet dark chocolate are accented by bits of mint and cedar. Silky tannins and lively acidity are in harmony with the fruit and alcohol, providing a crisp, clean mouthfeel. - Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast
