| Description: | 2022 Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru– First Release. As the vines continue to be passed on, Marc-Antonin was able to produce a tiny amount of Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet under his own label for the first time in 2022. Criots-Bâtard-Montrachet is the smallest of the Grand Crus (only 4.32 hectares in total) lying just south of Bâtard-Montrachet in Chassagne, and usually produces less than 400 cases a year from a number of vignerons. Contrary to an accepted tale of how the wine got its name, it actually refers to the soil, which contains a high degree of "criotte" (chalk). |
