Description: | \"I am quite fond of the English expression very fine\" an admirably concise way of describing a great wine. It conveys not only the idea of exceptional quality, but also of finesse, balance, elegance, and complexity.\" Olivier Bernard, proprietor. 2006: \"Another wine from this estate that's in harmony and balanced, especially for the vintage, with lots of currant and raspberry character and just a hint of dark chocolate. Full, medium tannins and a fresh finish. All together.\" Wine Spectator Region Description. One of the youngest appellations in France, this region just outside the modern city of Bordeaux (and once part of the appellation Graves) boasts vineyards that have won prestige for the entire Bordeaux region. Its hilly, well-drained soil suits the Sémillon and Sauvignon Blanc grapes used to make their dry whites and the Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot used in their supple, earthy reds. |
