I have been doing this for more than 25 years and this is a vintage I have not seen before, with such a balance between sugar and acid. Our wine staff was unanimously impressed by this dancing, lively dry white -- pale yellow in color, light-bodied, and brimming with energy. It is zippy and snappy with notes of green apple, pear, kiwi, lemon, and a hint of flint. It ends softly yet dry, with a taut finish, beckoning you for more. The wine is mild at 12.5% alcohol, and lifts your spirits without bringing you down. This Grner Veltliner over-delivers in terms of value and elegance, while being just a little bit playful. |
