| Description: | Winemaker Marie-Laure Ammons has quite an impressive resume; the kind that makes others take note. Not only did she work alongside Pierre Seillan at Stonestreet, but she also worked at Hartford Court, and at Atellier Melka. Marie-Laure's approach is very much non-interventionist, allowing for full fruit expression. This Chardonnay comes from the Hyde Vineyard, a property founded in 1979 by Larry Hyde. Located in the heart of Carneros, Hyde Vineyards sits in the coolest region of Napa Valley influenced by the cooling effect of the Petaluma Gap. Morning fog and cool breezes in the afternoons allow for warm days and cool nights resulting in a long growing season. Of a bright color with pale yellow, very fresh nose with a hint of honeysuckle and key lime. The mouthfeel is ample revealing fresh notes of almond with a nice tension on the finish. The delicate oak nuances allow the wine to linger in the mouth. |
