Drouhin Roserock Pinot Noir (750ML)

From Eola-Amity Hills

Vintage: 2022
Description: 95 We / 94 Ws / 94 De / 93 JS / 17+ Jr. #6 Wine Spectator Top 100 2024. This is a Goldilocks porridge wine where everything from the lemony acidity to the sturdy tannins was "just right." It is medium- bodied fare, with blackberry, Thai basil and orange-zest flavors. Violet and cinnamon-stick aromas blend harmoniously with notes of dark raspberries and blueberry fruit leather. It is a stunning value. - Michael Alberty, Wine Enthusiast. Supple and elegantly structured, with detailed raspberry and cherry flavors accented by rose petal, brown baking spices and orange peel as this glides toward polished tannins. Drink now through 2032.-Tim Fish, Wine Spectator. Domaine Drouhin is the Oregon outpost of Burgundy's Maison Joseph Drouhin. While most of the estate vineyards are in the Dundee Hills, Roserock Vineyard in Eola-Amity Hills has become increasingly key to the winery's success since the Drouhins purchased the 122-acre vineyard in 2013. VĂ©ronique Boss-Drouhin, who oversees winemaking operations in both Burgundy and Oregon, blended a selection from the vineyard's 35 individual blocks, which she fermented separately. Eola-Amity Pinot Noirs are known for their powerful structure, but Boss-Drouhin strives to accentuate the house's graceful style. This 2022 aged in French oak barrels (20 percent of which were new) for 10 months. - Wine Spectator. Wonderfully fruit-driven Pinot Noir from the Eola-Amity Hills, Roserock estate. Ripe bing cherry flesh, Chinese five-spice aromas and smoky clove spices come to the fore. The palate is richly fruited, with spiced berries, red plums and ripe, rich blackberries with a hint of dried anise and black tea to finish. - Cp, Decanter. A delicate, crunchy and refined pinot noir with notes of cranberries, Morello cherries, baking spices and roses. It's medium-bodied with sleek tannins and fresh acidity. Bright and agile with a silky texture. Succulent, with a focused, subtle finish. Drink or hold. - James Suckling. Pale purple in colour – more blue than the Domaine Drouhin Pinot Noirs from the Dundee Hills. Fresh black plum, blueberries, salt and earth on the nose. Bright mouth-watering acidity and supple but more present tannin than the Dundee Hills Pinots. Excellent concentration. Long. - SCJ, JancisRobinson
