| Description: | From COS, one of Sicilys true benchmark producers, who are certified organic and farm biodynamically. They emphasise wines of purity and freshness, rely exclusively on indigenous yeasts and eschew any overt oak influence. Hand harvested from vines averaging 15 years of age, COSs Frappato, spends 9 months in neutral vats, followed by 3 months in bottle before release. As with most of COSs wines, the emphasis here is on freshness and the bright expression of grape and terroir. As with other leading Frappatos, this wine starts with red-fruits and evolves with floral, smoky, herbal notes. This is a wine far more complex than its pale appearance might indicate. Intriguing. |
