The best Riesling we've tasted from South Africa, the Close Encounter is a lovely wine. Very fresh and intensely fruity, it shows honeyed apple aromas and flavors with mineral notes. High natural acidity keeps this wine tasting fresh and dry despite quite high residual sugar. A great wine for spicy Asian fare. There are no Us listings on Wine-Searcher, but the best price in North America (in Canada) is over $24. |
