||Tasting notes This wine has evolved perfectly showing a deep ruby colour with shades of orange. Its nose is persistent, full bodied and showing a lot of mature fruit, being dominated by the Tempranillo grape. Its taste is round, smooth, fresh, full of body and persistent. Rating 2006 was a hard year to follow, even if 2007 was a great year in Rioja and exceptional for López de Heredia. The 2007 Viña Bosconia Reserva shows a little tannic, fulfilling the reputation for being a more rustic wine than Viña Tondonia. There are notes of chocolate-covered cherries and hints of forest floor. Maybe with a little more time in bottle? 70,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in May 2014. (Wine Advocate Review). Producer notes 2006 was rated as Very Good by the DOC Rioja Board. In spite of a light frost in mid-April and a hailstorm in Viña Tonodnia in early July, the overall amount of grapes harvested was slightly higher than in 2005. Just like in 2005, the budding took place earlier than usual, and this advance remained during the rest of the vegetative cycle. Harvest of the white grapes started on September 25th in Viña Gravonia. Regarding the red grapes, it started in Viña Tondonia on October 2nd. No major issues were recorded during the harvest, aside from some light, yet persistent rainfall, that did not have any negative impact on the quality, which was very good in our vineyards thanks to the excellent sanitary state in which the grapes entered our cellar. The grapes were very healthy, with an average alcohol content of 12,8%, very balanced and with a good concentration of coloring material, what is essential to make wines with a vocation for ageing, which is the signature of our house. Technical notes Tempranillo (80%), Garnacho (15%), Mazuelo and Graciano, the remainder, all from our own vineyards. Food pairing Perfect with roasted and highly flavored meats, lamb and game.
