Extraordinary balance, polish and control. Textbook Pauillac. Drinking Window 2020 - 2045. Jane Anson, Decanter Firm style of Latour with a strictness to the tannins. Full bodied, powerful, tannic, youthful and concentrated, the fruit is fresh, ripe and out in front, but this needs another 10-15 more years before the tannins soften and it becomes fun to drink. My instincts say this will probably always retain its firm style, even when mature. This is not a bad thing, it's just a stylistic preference.-Jeff Leve, Wine Cellar Insider, tasted 7/17 |
