| Description: | St-Georges St-Emilion is the tiniest appellation in all of Bordeaux and boasts some of the highest elevations on the Right Bank. The sun exposure facilitated by these high elevations allows the wines to become more concentrated than those from the other St-Emilion satellites. The Chateau Macquin delivers on this front with rich blueberry, black cherry and other dark fruit fl avors enrobed in moderate tannins and brisk acidity. The slopes on which the chateau's vineyards are planted face south and the clay and limestone soils, farmed organically, are rich in nutrients. All this adds up to a style of Bordeaux that will pair beautifully with rare steak, prime rib or lamb chops. |
