| Description: | "schiefergestein". The Shäfer-Fröhilich consummation occurred in the 1970's, but the family's cultivation of vines reaches back to the 1800's. In recent history the family has brought prestige and notoriety to the village of Bockenau. The Schiefergestein is grown in blue Devon slate and quartzite, with the slate showing in the glass. Citrus pastries, pink grapefruit, apricot, peach and a brioche note are turbo charged by streaking acidity. |
