| Description: | 100% Sangiovese. Dominated by a lovely, subtle perfume of cherries and old French oak, followed by a juicy palate with a subtle dried herbal finish. This is wine with class and drinkability, and a good introduction to the style of the pedigreed flagship wine, "Le Macchie.". Alberaia, meaning a row of trees (often along a river) is the 2nd wine to the flagship "Macchie" made by Pietro Caciorgna. It comes from the small Casole d'Elsa appellation in the province of Siena. Aged 10 months in French oak. "The philosophy of the Caciorgna family is to produce quality while respecting the environment and health of the consumer, so no chemical fertilizers are used, and to prevent vine diseases, only traditional products such as copper and sulfur are used." - Winery Notes |
