| Description: | Golden Winery is a small label working out of Folktale Winery. The goal of this project is to draw attention to Monterey and its potential for making terrific wines, especially Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. The Monterey AVA is often overshadowed by Napa and Sonoma Valley 150 miles to its North, but just like them, Monterey has warm daytime temperatures mixed with a strong coastal influence. This classic combination allows grapes to fully ripen while also maintaining high levels of acidity. Here, grape vines thrive on hillsides just off the valley floor. Golden Chardonnay is a traditional California-style Chardonnay, exhibiting notes of ripe apples and pears, a hint of tropical fruits, and plenty of oak and butter on the palate. |
