| Description: | 87 pts Stephen Tanzer/Vinous June 2015 2013 Painted Wolf The Den Cabernet Sauvignon (blended with 5% each Shiraz and Merlot; all done in stainless steel): Bright medium red. Pure black cherry and floral scents, with herb and licorice notes emerging. Juicy, easygoing and bright; a light and cheerful wine with good intensity and no off notes to its bright red fruit flavors. I might have guessed that this was a particularly energetic Merlot. Finishes with firm but essentially pliant tannins. |
