| Description: | Chateau Le Pieure dates all the way back to 1696, the more modern era begins in 1897 when the chateau was purchased by Joseph Brisson. Joseph was the one who altered the name to Chateau Le Prieure. The chateau was then purchased in 2020 by the owners of Chateau Calon Segur in St. Estephe. The vineyards are planted 75% to Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc and the average age of the vineyards are 41 years of age. At their peak, the vineyards rise to 89 meters, giving them one of the highest elevations in Saint Emilion. |
